10 Perpustakaan Pribadi Unik

Satu per satu buku dibeli. Tak terasa sudah ada puluhan buku di rumah. Lama-kelamaan jadi ratusan dan sudah waktunya menyediakan tempat khusus buat menampungnya: perpustakaan pribadi di rumah.

Selamat Ulang Tahun ke-38, Gramedia Pustaka Utama!
Happy World Poetry Day! Tentang Aku dan Puisi :)
Hari Puisi Sedunia (World Poetry Day) oleh UNESCO ditetapkan untuk dirayakan setiap tanggal 21 Maret. Dari SMP sebenarnya saya sangat menyukai puisi, mulai dari penyair-penyair lokal seperti Chairil Anwar dan Rendra sampai Shakespeare, Wordsworth, dan kawan-kawan.
Pada akhirnya saya memang lebih menyenangi puisi-puisi berbahasa Inggris sih, termasuk puisi-puisi Shakespeare yang meskipun susah dimengerti, ketika dibaca (baik dalam hati maupun bersuara), sepertinya kok indaaaah… banget gitu
Ketika SMA saya membeli buku di bawah ini dengan merogoh kantong sendiri (waktu itu harganya 66 ribu, cukup terasa lah ya buat kantong seorang anak SMA) . Belinya dulu di Kinokuniya Sogo Dept. Store Tunjungan Plaza Surabaya (sekarang sudah nggak ada tobuknya T_T.)
Isinya puluhan puisi karya penyair-penyair terkenal, sebut saja T.S. Eliot, Lord Alfred Tennyson, W.B. Yeats, Christina Rossetti, dan tentu saja Opa Shakespeare. Beberapa penyair favorit saya adalah Sir Walter Ralegh, Percy Bysshe Shelley, William Butler Yeats, dan Robert Frost. Belakangan juga mulai suka sama Walt Whitman.
Salah satu puisi favorit saya dari buku tersebut:

Ada dua buku puisi yang saya beli belakangan ini:
Leaves of Grass oleh Walt Whitman. Tahu buku ini karena rekomendasi dari Ndari dan mbak Hetih Rusli, editor Gramedia. Akhirnya nemu buku ini secara nggak sengaja di diskon besar-besaran Periplus, dan membawanya pulang seharga tiga puluh ribu rupiah saja, hahahah

Robert Frost’s Poems. Pertama kali tahu puisi Robert Frost dari serial televisi Roswell yang dulu sempat tayang di salah satu stasiun tv swasta. Puisi “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening” inilah yang dikutip salah satu episode serial tersebut:

Oh how I love the way these poets turn a phrase! Saya tertarik juga untuk mereview buku puisi, meskipun belum pernah dan juga bingung bagaimana mereview sebuah buku puisi. Adakah teman-teman yang pernah mereview buku puisi? Bagi tipsnya dong!

Bagi yang menggunakan WordPress saya bisa reblog dengan gampang sih, nah untuk teman-teman yang menggunakan blogspot atau yang lain, bisa kami copas reviewnya (tentu dengan menyebutkan sumber dan menyertakan link posting asli).

Harus diakui banyak orang suka membaca, tetapi dari sekian banyak, berapa banyak yang mampu berkomitmen untuk menulis semua buku yang pernah dibacanya, tanpa kecuali? Rasa-rasanya tidak banyak. Padahal peresensi buku dalam dunia perbukuan cukup memiliki posisi penting. Ia merupakan pembaca pertama dari buku-buku yang telah terbit. Posisi first reader ini di luar negeri, memiliki kekuatan penentu, semacam radar yang digunakan oleh masyarakat buku untuk menebak apakah suatu buku akan berhasil atau tidak diterima oleh masyarakat.
