Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books To Read In A Day

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Read a post explaining the feature here.

The topic this week is Top Ten Books To Read In A Day. The first thing that came into my mind when I read this week’s theme is mostly children’s books, honestly. Here is my list of Top Ten Books To Read In A Day:

The Penderwicks
, by Jeanne Birdsall. An exciting and laugh-out-loud story about 4 sisters having their adventure in a great mansion named Arundel.

The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane, by Kate DiCamillo. A story about a china rabbit who went on a long long journey to feel love. The illustrations in the book are awesome.

Saga no Gabai Baachan by Yoschichi Shimada. A memoir that tells readers about the childhood of the author, when he was living with his grandmother during Hiroshima bombings. They lived to the fullest in spite of being very poor. This book has a lot of good lessons.

Ways to Live Forever, by Sally Nicholls. What do you think a bright eleven-year-old boy will do in the last days of his life? Read this book and Sam will give you a different meaning about life and death.

Flipped, by Wendelin van Draanen. Irresistible coming-of-age story of Bryce and Juli. A real good read for teens.

I Am Number Four, by Pittacus Lore. Alien Number Four on the run. Creepy monsters are after him. Well, you know the rest of the story and how fast-paced it is, fast enough to finish reading in a day!

The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins. No need to say much about this one either. If you haven’t read it, I suggest you run to the nearest bookstore and grab a copy of it.

The Magician’s Elephant, by Kate DiCamillo. One of my favorite works of DiCamillo, the book was so sad and so beautiful at the same time. I love DiCamillo’s style of writing so much I wished the book didn’t end so soon…

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, by J.K. Rowling. Harry’s first rendezvous with his godfather, the fugitive Sirius Black. The first you-can-say-it’s-thick book that I finished in a day.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, by J.K. Rowling. Triwizard Tournament. Yule Ball, and Harry and Ron’s trouble of getting themselves dates for the event. Disguised Death Eater at large in Hogwarts’ castle walls. Quite a crowded book, but in a good way. 🙂 Yes, I also finished this book in a day!
