Weigh in Wednesday [2]: Novellas vs. Anthologies

Thanks to Lauren of Epilogue Review for inviting me to join this weekly meme of her blog!

Weigh in Wednesday is a meme which is strictly a Something vs. Something type of thing. The purpose is for it to be short, interactive, and something fun to do halfway through the week!

The topic this week is:

Novellas vs. Anthologies

I read both of them, but I must say that I prefer novellas. The problem with anthologies is that they usually come from various authors with different writing styles. Even though an anthology brought one theme, I found it difficult to like it as a whole piece. There’s always some parts of the anthology that I like and some other parts that I don’t . I haven’t read much of modern-day short stories, while some of the classic short stories authors that I love and long to read more from are: Leo Tolstoy, O. Henry, and Edgar Allan Poe. I prefer novellas because the room for building conflict is larger than in short stories. But they all come back to the author who writes them, of course. 🙂

What about you? Would you pick novellas or anthologies? Let Lauren know with linking your post of WiW here.
